President recognizes Arab American Heritage Month

ICYMI: Last week, President Biden became the first sitting U.S. President to recognize April as ✨ Arab American Heritage Month ✨! Thanks, President Joe Biden , for celebrating with us!

Oregon has one of the fastest growing Arab populations in the country, according to the latest survey published by the Arab American Institute, the Washington, DC-based, nonprofit organization. Arab Oregonians live in at least 28 of Oregon’s 36 counties and speak many different Arabic dialects. Statewide, Oregon’s Arab-American community is estimated at approximately 40,000, diverse in their faith, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, and ability. Arab Americans and their families may come from all over the 22 countries making up the Arab World, including Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and many others.
